The School Food Company LTD in Lucan, Co. Dublin, Ireland are hiring Catering Assistants to prep, cook and serve freshly prepared meals in our on-site kitchens installed in schools.

This permanent role offers part-time or full-time hours on a rotating 2/3 day roster with early hours. Responsibilities include cooking from scratch, kitchen management, delivering lunches to classrooms, and maintaining HACCP hygiene standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering or home cooking is a massive advantage, but a positive attitude is essential!
• Garda Vetting and completion of a Child Protection Course are required.

• Kitchen Management: Assisting with the hustle and bustle of a fast-paced commercial kitchen.

Since 2011, The School Food Company been dedicated to serving fresh, healthy lunches that are cooked daily onsite in our kitchens which we install in schools.

Location:Our Primary Schools in Lucan.

Contracts:

Part-Time: (10–18 hours/week)Schedule:2 / 3 day Rotating Roster (No set days)

To ensure you love this job, we want to be 100% transparent about what it involves:

• This is a Cooking Role: You won’t just be serving. You will be peeling, chopping, prepping, and cooking ingredients from scratch every day. (We do not deal with raw meat)
• The Days Change Weekly: We operate on arotatingroster for part time members (2 days one week, 3 days the next). You willnothave set days (e.g., "Mondays off"). You need to be available Monday–Friday.
• Flexibility is Key: Because of the rotating schedule, this role isnot suitablefor those in part-time education or with fixed commitments on specific weekdays.

What You Will Be Doing

The Schedule

• Hours:Approx. 7.30-9.00am – 2.30pm. Hours depend on the school and position being applied for.
• Roster:Issued one week in advance.
• Rotation:Full time: Monday to Friday. Part time: 2-day / 3-day weekly rotation.

Requirements
