The School Food Company LTD is hiring Catering Assistants for on-site roles in our Mallow and Buttevant schools. Since 2011, The School Food Company been dedicated to serving fresh, healthy lunches that are cooked daily onsite in our kitchens which we install in schools.

These positions will commence End of August/Early September.

Locations: Our Secondary schools in Mallow and Buttevant.

Contract:

Temporary Team Lead: (28-32 hours/week) Schedule 5 days Monday to Friday (sick leave cover)

Full Time: (28-32 hours/week) Schedule: 5 days Monday to Friday

Part-Time: (8–15 hours/week) Schedule: 2 / 3 day Rotating Roster (No set days)

At The School Food Company, we don’t just serve lunch—we make it. We are looking for hands-on Catering Assistants to join our team.

Is This Role For You? (Please Read)

• This is a Cooking Role: You won’t just be serving. You will be peeling, chopping, prepping, and cooking ingredients from scratch every day. (We do not deal with raw meat)
• The Days Change Weekly: We operate on a rotating roster for the part time roles (2 days one week, 3 days the next). You will not have set days (e.g., "Mondays off"). You need to be available Monday–Friday.
• Flexibility is Key: Because of the rotating schedule, this role is not suitable for those in part-time education or with fixed commitments on specific weekdays.

What You Will Be Doing

• Cooking from Scratch: preparing fresh, healthy meals daily in our onsite kitchens.
• Kitchen Management: Assisting with the hustle and bustle of a fast-paced commercial kitchen.
• Service: Serving the students from the canteen, both food service and cash/card handling involved. End of day clean down.
• Safety First: Maintaining high standards of HACCP food safety and hygiene.

The Schedule

• Hours: Approx. 7.45am – 2.30pm. Schedule depends on the individual schools.
• Roster: Issued one week in advance.

Requirements
