Job summary

Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and organised Catering Assistant to join our catering team in Letterkenny, Ireland. This is a permanent position offering an excellent opportunity to develop your skills within a professional hospitality environment. The successful candidate will provide essential support to our catering operations, ensuring high standards of food preparation, service, and hygiene are maintained at all times whilst contributing positively to our collaborative team. - Assist with the serving of food and beverages to guests, ensuring a professional, courteous, and customer-focused service at all times with a willingness to learn and a positive attitude

• Respond promptly and efficiently to requests from team members, contributing to a supportive and inclusive working environment - Comply with all food safety regulations, health and hygiene standards, and organisational policies at all times
• Maintain awareness of dietary requirements and allergen information, ensuring guests' needs are met with empathy and care - Work efficiently under pressure during busy service periods, remaining resilient and organised throughout the day - Assist with food preparation, plating, and presentation, maintaining attention to detail and high standards
• Support the setup and breakdown of catering spaces, working collaboratively with team members - Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work areas, equipment, and utensils in accordance with hygiene standards - Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors, demonstrating flexibility and a goal-oriented approach to tasks

Qualifications

**Required:** - Demonstrable knowledge of food hygiene and safety practices, or willingness to obtain Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 - Strong organisational and time-keeping skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively - Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment whilst maintaining high standards

• Excellent people skills and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team - Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining consistently high standards in all tasks - Reliable and punctual with flexibility to work varied shift patterns, including weekends and evenings as required - Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods during service - Clear verbal communication skills and ability to follow instructions
• Basic numeracy skills for portion control and stock awareness **Desirable:** - Knowledge of dietary requirements and allergen awareness - Previous experience in a catering, hospitality, or food service environment - Willingness to undertake induction training and develop your skill base within the role - Experience working in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment
