Job summary

The Kingsley is seeking a Carpenter/Maintenance Operative to ensure safe, efficient, and well-presented operation of all areas across the property. You will work closely with the Engineering team to support a high-quality guest experience.

Key duties include carpentry repairs, general maintenance tasks, and assisting with preventative maintenance. A hands-on, flexible approach and strong attention to detail are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous carpentry experience.
• General maintenance experience or a good practical skill set.
• Hands-on, flexible approach to work.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in their work.
• Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
• Basic IT skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Safe Pass would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Carry out carpentry repairs and maintenance throughout the hotel, including doors, locks, furniture, fixtures, fittings, and general woodwork
• Support with general maintenance tasks including basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, and repair work
• Assist with the hotel's preventative maintenance programme
• Respond to maintenance requests in guest bedrooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas
• Maintain equipment, tools, and machinery in good working order
• Monitor the appearance and upkeep of the hotel, ensuring high standards are maintained at all times
• Assist with emergency maintenance issues relating to fire, water, electricity, and other essential services
• Submit requests to reorder supplies and spare parts as required
• Report any building, equipment, or maintenance concerns to the Engineering Manager
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and health and safety requirements
