Job summary

The Kingsley in Cork City, Ireland is seeking a Carpenter/Maintenance Operative to maintain safe, efficient and well-presented environments across the property. You will work with the Engineering team to support a high-quality guest experience.

Responsibilities include carpentry repairs across doors, furniture, fixtures; general maintenance (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting); support preventative maintenance; respond to maintenance requests in guest areas; maintain tools; ensure high

Qualifications

• Carpentry experience in hospitality settings or similar environments.
• General maintenance experience or broad practical skills.
• Hands-on, flexible approach to work with a proactive mindset.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out carpentry repairs and maintenance across doors, locks, furniture and woodwork.
• Assist with general maintenance tasks including basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting and repair work.
• Support the hotel’s preventative maintenance programme.
• Respond to maintenance requests in guest bedrooms, public areas and back-of-house areas.
• Maintain equipment, tools and machinery in good working order.
• Monitor appearance and upkeep to maintain high standards at all times.
• Assist with emergency maintenance issues relating to fire, water, electricity, etc.
• Submit requests to reorder supplies and spare parts as required.
• Report building, equipment or maintenance concerns to the Engineering Manager.
• Follow all company health and safety policies and procedures.
