Job summary

Lex Consultancy is recruiting a Senior Life Sciences & Business Development Manager on a one-year maternity cover contract in Dublin 2 (Hybrid). Salary around €83,113 per annum.

The role focuses on managing strategic client relationships, supporting business development and identifying new investment opportunities across Biopharma and Life Sciences. The successful candidate will lead a team, build engagement strategies for key clients, and represent the organisation at industry events both

Lex Consultancy is working with a leading public sector organisation to recruit a Senior Life Sciences & Business Development Manager on a one-year maternity cover contract.

This is a senior opportunity within a high-performing team, focused on managing strategic client relationships, supporting business development and identifying new investment and growth opportunities across the Biopharma and Food sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and develop strong, long-term relationships with a portfolio of major international clients operating in Ireland.
• Build a detailed understanding of clients' businesses, operations, investment plans and future growth opportunities.
• Monitor domestic and international policy, economic and sector developments and assess their potential impact on clients and investment.
• Identify and develop opportunities for new investment, expansion and transformation projects.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of sector-focused business development strategies.
• Develop strong knowledge of trends and emerging opportunities across the Biopharma and wider Life Sciences sector.
• Identify opportunities across areas including R&D, digitalisation, sustainability and training.
• Prepare and present high-quality business and investment proposals to senior stakeholders.
• Represent the organisation at industry events and within relevant business and professional networks, both nationally and internationally.
• Develop tailored engagement strategies and value propositions for key clients and prospective investors.
• Lead, motivate and support a team, encouraging continuous learning and professional development.
• Contribute to the wider strategic development and management of the division.
• Relevant Level 8 third-level qualification in Business or a related sector discipline.
• Proven experience in a senior client-facing, commercial, business development or relationship management role.
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
• Excellent ability to build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and deliver to tight deadlines.
• Flexibility to undertake domestic and international travel and work outside standard office hours when required.
• Experience within the Biopharma, Life Sciences, Food or related sectors.
• Experience working with large multinational organisations or strategic accounts.
• Background in investment, business development, commercial strategy or client development.
• Experience leading and developing a team.
• Knowledge of R&D, sustainability, digital transformation or other strategic investment areas.
• Strong understanding of the Irish and international business environment.
