As part of its continued growth strategy, the organisation is seeking to appoint a Business Development Manager to drive commercial development across the Irish market. Reporting into a senior European commercial leader, this is a highly visible role focused on new business generation, strategic account growth and the development of long-term customer relationships within the life sciences sector.
This opportunity will suit a commercially driven sales professional who enjoys operating in a consultative, solution-selling environment and is motivated by the challenge of building and growing a territory within a technically complex market.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a business development strategy across the Irish life sciences market.
- Identify, qualify and secure new business opportunities across pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical technology customers.
- Grow and expand existing customer relationships across multiple sites, divisions and manufacturing operations.
- Promote a portfolio of automation, process technology, engineering and managed service solutions.
- Lead complex solution-selling engagements from initial customer contact through to commercial close.
- Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across manufacturing, engineering, automation, operations and quality functions.
- Collaborate with technical and operational teams to develop customer-focused solutions.
- Maintain a high-quality sales pipeline and accurate forecasting through CRM systems.
- Monitor market trends, customer developments and competitor activity to support commercial growth initiatives.
Experience
- Proven track record of delivering new business growth within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical technology or related manufacturing environments.
- Experience selling automation, engineering services, industrial technology, manufacturing solutions or other complex technical offerings.
- Demonstrated success managing significant commercial targets and delivering measurable revenue growth.
- Strong strategic account management and stakeholder engagement capability.
- Experience navigating complex sales cycles involving multiple decision-makers and technical stakeholders.
- Ability to engage credibly with engineering, manufacturing, operations and automation teams.
- Degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, Business or a related discipline would be advantageous.
- Experience using CRM platforms to manage pipeline, forecasting and customer engagement activities.
