Job summary

Flogas Ireland is seeking an ambitious Business Development Executive to drive growth in the renewables sector. You will identify opportunities, build client relationships, and support proposals and tenders with cross-functional teams.

You will collaborate with commercial, engineering and finance teams, participate in industry events, and monitor policy shifts to exploit market opportunities. This role offers hybrid work options and development pathways within a growing energy group.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
  • 2–5 years in business development or sales.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Commercial awareness and interest in energy sector.
  • Proficient with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

  • Identify and qualify new business opportunities in the renewable energy market.
  • Research prospective clients, industry trends, competitors, and emerging technologies.
  • Support lead generation through networking, events, digital outreach, and CRM activities.
  • Assist in preparing commercial proposals, presentations, and tender submissions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with prospective customers, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate records of opportunities and activities within the CRM system.
  • Coordinate meetings with prospective clients and support senior team during negotiations.
  • Collaborate with engineering, project delivery, and finance teams to develop tailored commercial solutions.
  • Attend industry conferences, exhibitions, and networking events to represent the company.
  • Monitor renewable energy policy developments and market opportunities.
  • Contribute to achieving monthly and annual business development targets.

About The Role

We are seeking an ambitious and motivated Business Development Executive to join our growing team in the energy and renewables sector. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to build a career in clean energy by supporting the identification, development, and delivery of new business opportunities across renewable energy technologies.

Working closely with senior commercial and technical teams, you will help generate leads, build client relationships, conduct market research, and support the development of proposals that contribute to the company's growth.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Environmental Science, Renewable Energy, or a related discipline.
  • 2-5 years' experience in business development, sales, account management, or a commercial role (graduates encouraged to apply).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
  • Commercial awareness and an interest in the renewable energy sector.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Desirable
  • Experience using CRM platforms (e.g. Salesforce, HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics).
  • Knowledge of renewable energy technologies such as solar PV, battery storage, wind, EV charging, or energy efficiency solutions.
  • Experience supporting bids, tenders, or proposal writing.
  • Understanding of energy markets and sustainability trends.
