Job summary

FRS Recruitment is assisting an Ireland-based retailer in Sligo to find an Assistant Branch Manager. In this role you’ll work with the Branch Manager to run daily operations, manage the retail team, and ensure excellent customer service both in-store and over the phone.

The ideal candidate has a strong retail background, proven people leadership, an interest in building materials, and a commercially savvy, organized approach.

Qualifications

• Strong retail background with merchandising and KPI focus.
• Proven people leadership in a busy retail or commercial setting.
• Interest in building materials, construction, or DIY.
• Commercially smart, organized, and proficient with MS Word and Excel.
• Dynamic, flexible, and able to perform under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Support the Branch Manager in driving a culture of continuous improvement and lead the team.
• Oversee daily branch operations and ensure excellent customer service in-store and on the phone.
• Assist in meeting revenue, profit margin, and safety goals.
• Manage cash office duties, stock control, aged stock, and branch records.
• Be competent across branch support activities (tills, goods inwards, ordering) to lead by example.
