Job summary

Stewart Construction is seeking a proactive and well-organised Site Manager to join our growing Irish team in Galway. You will lead site activities on prestigious commercial, industrial, and educational projects, coordinating labour, subcontractors, and plant to deliver safe, on-time, and quality-driven outcomes.

As a BIM enabled contractor, you will contribute to continuous improvement and collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, and QSs to ensure the highest standards of site delivery.

Qualifications

• 5+ years solid site experience within the construction and building industry.
• 3rd level qualification or trade background with relevant experience.
• Proven track record of working to strict timescales, with strong attention to detail.
• Thorough knowledge of building practices.
• Valid Safepass and Manual Handling certification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the day-to-day management and coordination of site operations, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and to the required quality standards.
• Lead site teams and subcontractors to ensure project objectives, milestones, and productivity targets are achieved.
• Ensure works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project requirements.
• Monitor site progress and implement corrective actions where necessary to maintain programme commitments.
• Coordinate site activities to ensure efficient sequencing of works and effective utilisation of labour, plant, and materials.
• Support the successful delivery of projects from mobilisation through to completion, commissioning, and handover.
• Assist in the planning and implementation of short-term and long-term construction programmes.
• Monitor daily and weekly progress against programme targets and report any risks or delays to the Project Manager.
• Coordinate labour, subcontractors, plant, materials, and site logistics to support efficient project delivery.
• Ensure materials, equipment, and resources are available when required to maintain productivity and programme objectives.
