Job summary

The Company

This building services engineering consultancy has a long track record in the Irish market, delivering mechanical, electrical and public health engineering design across healthcare, education, residential, commercial and retail projects.

With a Dublin based team and a wider presence across Ireland and the UK, they are continuing to develop their BIM capability and are looking for an experienced BIM Coordinator to support project delivery, improve Revit standards and work closely with their engineering teams.

The Role: BIM Coordinator

This BIM Coordinator role is based in Dublin, Co Dublin, supporting the delivery of mechanical and electrical building services projects across Ireland.

Reporting to the BIM Lead and company directors, you will coordinate Revit MEP models, manage BIM standards and work closely with mechanical and electrical engineers, architects, structural consultants and contractors.

A key part of the role will involve supporting and mentoring engineering staff in Revit and BIM workflows, improving model based design across the business and ensuring projects are delivered in line with ISO 19650 requirements.

Must Have Requirements

• Must have strong hands on Revit MEP and Navisworks experience within a building services environment
• Experience working to ISO 19650 standards and within a Common Data Environment is required
• Proven BIM coordination experience across mechanical and electrical building services projects
• Good knowledge of mechanical, electrical and public health engineering terminology
• Strong coordination and communication skills with the ability to work directly with engineers and wider design teams

Preferred Experience

• Previous BIM Coordinator experience within an Irish building services consultancy or contractor environment
• Good understanding of Irish construction project delivery and Building Regulations
• AutoCAD experience beneficial
• Experience supporting or training engineers in Revit and BIM workflows preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Set up Revit models and drawings, ensuring projects are correctly structured for engineering teams
• Coordinate mechanical and electrical models with architects, structural consultants and other project disciplines
• Carry out clash detection using Navisworks, issue coordination reports and support engineers in resolving clashes
• Review project files for compliance with BIM standards, ISO 19650 processes and company protocols
• Work with BIM teams across the business to develop Revit standards, families, templates and best practice procedures
• Support engineers and junior team members with Revit modelling, drawing production and BIM deliverables
• Coordinate 2D drawings and 3D models in line with project requirements and agreed delivery programmes
• Attend design team meetings and represent the BIM function during project coordination and delivery

About You

You will have practical BIM Coordinator experience within mechanical and electrical building services and be confident working with Revit MEP, Navisworks and coordinated multidisciplinary models.

You should understand how engineering design develops through a project and be comfortable working directly with mechanical and electrical engineers as well as architects, structural consultants and contractors.

Strong communication and organisation are important, particularly as you will be supporting engineers with Revit, running internal workshops and helping improve BIM standards across the business.
