The Lakeside Hotel & Leisure Centre in Ballina is seeking a Bar Manager to lead a busy, food‑led bar and its bustling function bar. This hands‑on role sits within the hotel’s management team, focusing on service excellence, staff motivation, and high kitchen‑bar collaboration.

You will drive bar standards, manage stock and supplier relations, and contribute to menu development while upholding licensing and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Previous management experience in a busy, food‑focused bar.
• Hotel bars experience is highly desirable.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Passionate about customer experience, with an eye for detail.
• Strong organisational and financial awareness.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and rotating schedule.

We have O Hara's Bar which is the hub of the hotel for residents and locals alike. We also boast a large function room Bar where we hold a large number of weddings and events throughout the year.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Bar Manager to lead operations in our busy, food‑focused bar. Allied to this, we have a very busy function bar. This is a hands‑on leadership role within our hotel management team, suited to someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and upholds high standards of service, efficiency, and team motivation.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily bar operations in a high‑volume, food‑led environment.
• Lead, train, and motivate bar staff to deliver warm, professional service consistent with our reputation.
• Maintain high standards of food and beverage quality, ensuring consistency aligned with guest expectations of excellent dining.
• Manage stock control, ordering, waste reduction, and supplier relationships.
• Collaborate with the wider management team to support hotel‑wide service excellence.
• Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health & safety standards, and HACCP requirements.
• Contribute to menu development, promotions, and guest experience initiatives.
