The Harbour Hotel Galway City is seeking an experienced Bar & Restaurant Manager to join our management team and lead both the Bar and Restaurant operations. You will drive guest experiences, manage a skilled team and work closely with hotel leadership to uphold high standards across service and hospitality.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily Bar and Restaurant operations with high service standards.
• Lead, motivate and develop the Food & Beverage team.
• Ensure warm, professional and memorable guest experiences.

• Train and coach staff to maintain service quality.
• Monitor guest feedback and address issues proactively.
• Coordinate with Kitchen to ensure smooth service.
• Maintain presentation, cleanliness and organisation across the department.

• Ensure compliance with food safety, health & safety, licensing.
• Contribute to budgets, revenue targets and KPIs.

The Harbour Hotel is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Bar & Restaurant Manager to join our management team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a hospitality professional who is passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences, leading a strong team and driving high standards across our Bar and Restaurant operations.

The Role

As Bar & Restaurant Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of our Bar and Restaurant, ensuring a consistently high standard of service while creating a positive and engaging environment for both guests and colleagues.

You will work closely with the Hotel Management and Kitchen teams to ensure the smooth running of the operation and an excellent overall guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the daily operation of the Bar and Restaurant, ensuring excellent standards of service at all times.
• Lead, motivate and develop the Food & Beverage team.
• Ensure guests receive a warm, professional and memorable experience.
• Manage staffing levels, rosters and deployment in line with business requirements.
• Train and coach team members to maintain and improve service standards.
• Monitor guest feedback and proactively address any issues.
• Work closely with the Kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service.
• Maintain excellent standards of presentation, cleanliness and organisation throughout the department.
• Support stock management, ordering, controls and cost management.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, health & safety, licensing and hotel procedures.
• Support the achievement of departmental budgets, revenue targets and other key performance indicators.
• Identify opportunities to increase sales and enhance the guest experience.
• Act as a strong presence on the floor, particularly during busy service periods.

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous management or supervisory experience within a busy Bar, Restaurant or Hotel Food & Beverage environment.
• Strong leadership and people-management skills.
• A genuine passion for hospitality and delivering excellent customer service.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Confidence managing a busy operation and making decisions under pressure.
• Good understanding of beverage operations, stock control and cost management.
• Commercial awareness and the ability to contribute to revenue growth.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
