Job summary

The Royal Marine Hotel in Ireland is seeking a Bar & Restaurant Assistant Manager to lead and support the hotel’s Food & Beverage team. You will drive service excellence, manage daily operations and help achieve financial targets while ensuring guest satisfaction.

Ideal candidates will have at least 2 years of bar management experience in hotels in Ireland, strong leadership skills and a track record of developing high-performing teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years bar management in hotels in Ireland.
• Experience managing busy F&B operations including events.
• Proven rostering, stocktaking, tills and cash management.
• Strong leadership with ability to motivate and develop teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily restaurant and bar operations, delivering exceptional service standards.

The Royal Marine Hotel is looking for a self-motivated, passionate and experienced hospitality professional to join our Food & Beverage team as a Bar & Restaurant Assistant Manager.

Job Purpose

To assist in the successful management of the hotel's bar and restaurant operations by supporting the team, maintaining service excellence, achieving financial targets and ensuring guest satisfaction at all times.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist in the daily management of restaurant and bar operations while ensuring the team consistently delivers exceptional service standards.
• Lead, support and supervise Food & Beverage team members during service, ensuring duties are carried out efficiently and professionally.
• Ensure all team members provide a high standard of customer service and guest care at all times.
• Conduct regular team briefings and communicate service expectations, promotions, and operational updates.
• Train, coach and develop team members to maintain hotel service standards and encourage professional growth.
• Monitor team performance and provide ongoing feedback to ensure objectives and standards are achieved.
• Ensure the team follows all company policies, procedures, HACCP, health & safety and licensing regulations.
• Oversee staff deployment during shifts to ensure efficient service delivery and guest satisfaction.
• Ensure team members maintain cleanliness, presentation and operational standards throughout all restaurant and bar areas.
• Motivate the team to maximise sales opportunities through effective upselling and promotion of food, beverage and hotel services.
• Monitor and support the team in managing guest feedback and resolving complaints professionally and efficiently.
• Ensure all team members follow cash handling, stock control and inventory procedures accurately.
• Work closely with the management team to create a positive, productive and collaborative working environment.
• Lead by example through a hands-on approach to service and operational excellence.

Experience/Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of 2 years Bar Management experience in Hotels in Ireland
• Experience in managing busy Food and Beverage operations, Outlets, Events, Meetings, including large Conferences, Weddings, banquets etc
• Must have proven Management experience in rostering, ordering, stocktaking, tills and cash management
• Proven people management experience
• Must display effective leadership and team management abilities
• The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' experience in a supervisory role within a hotel Food & Beverage department and will be an effective leader with a proven ability to build, motivate and develop teams. They will be responsible for ensuring that both they and their team consistently deliver exceptional guest experiences, achieve departmental objectives and maintain the highest standards of service, presentation and operational excellence.
