Job summary

The Metropole Hotel Cork is seeking an experienced Bar Manager to lead the bar operation, delivering an exceptional experience for both hotel guests and external customers.

Reporting to the Deputy General Manager / General Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day bar and beverage service across hotel outlets, driving revenue, managing costs, and ensuring licensing compliance and company procedures.

• Experience in a Bar Management or senior Bar/F&B role.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the bar team, ensuring excellent standards of service and guest satisfaction.
• Deliver a consistently high-quality beverage service across all hotel outlets.
• Maintain a professional, presentable and approachable presence for both guests and team members.
• Provide strong leadership, support and guidance to the team.
• Deal confidently and professionally with demanding guests and challenging situations.
• Remain calm and professional when dealing with guests who may be intoxicated.
• Ensure compliance with licensing regulations and all company policies and procedures.
• Take responsibility for stock control, security and the effective management of company property.
• Monitor and control costs while maintaining high service and quality standards.
• Proactively work towards achieving revenue and commercial targets.
• Contribute to the commercial development of the outlet, including social media and marketing initiatives.
• Demonstrate flexibility and the ability to respond positively to changing business requirements.
