Job summary

Osborne Recruitment is seeking an experienced Bar Manager for a well-established client in Drogheda, Ireland. You will lead daily operations, drive exceptional guest experiences and manage stock, staffing, budgets, and compliance behind the scenes.

You’ll be a hands-on leader on the floor during peak service, develop your team, monitor GP targets, and maintain licensing and health & safety standards, delivering outstanding guest experiences.

Qualifications

• 25 years' experience as a Bar Manager or in a senior supervisory role within a busy hospitality environment.
• Proven experience leading and developing successful teams.
• Strong knowledge of POS systems and stock management.

Bar Manager Here at Osborne Recruitment, we are currently recruiting an experienced Bar Manager on behalf of a well-established client in Drogheda. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who loves delivering exceptional guest experiences, leading high-performing teams, and driving operational excellence. As Bar Manager, you'll take ownership of the day-to-day running of a busy bar, combining hands-on leadership with strong commercial awareness. From creating a vibrant atmosphere on the floor to managing stock, staffing, budgets, and compliance behind the scenes, you'll play a key role in the success of the business.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead Daily Operations Oversee the smooth running of the bar, including opening and closing procedures.
• Be a visible presence on the floor, leading the team through busy service periods and ensuring an exceptional customer experience.
• Create a welcoming and energetic atmosphere by maintaining high presentation standards, lighting, music, and overall ambience.
• Inspire & Develop Your Team Recruit, train, mentor, and motivate a high-performing bar team.
• Build a positive, professional culture where people can thrive.
• Prepare weekly rosters to meet business demands.
• Conduct team briefings, provide performance feedback, and lead by example every day.
• Manage Stock & Suppliers Order beverages, consumables, and bar supplies efficiently.
• Complete regular stocktakes and maintain strong supplier relationships.
• Monitor stock levels, pour costs, and implement effective controls to reduce waste and maximise profitability.
• Drive Financial Performance Oversee cash handling and daily reconciliations.
• Monitor sales performance and support financial reporting.
• Ensure the bar consistently achieves agreed gross profit (GP) targets.
• Maintain Standards & Compliance Ensure full compliance with licensing legislation, health & safety regulations, and responsible service of alcohol policies.
• Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness, presentation, and operational excellence throughout the venue.
• Deliver Outstanding Guest Experiences Build strong relationships with customers and create memorable experiences.
• Handle customer feedback and resolve issues professionally and efficiently.

What We're Looking For

• 25 years' experience as a Bar Manager or in a senior supervisory role within a busy hospitality environment.
• Proven experience leading and developing successful teams.
• Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Toast, NCR, or similar.
• Experience using inventory and stock management systems.
• Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
• A calm, confident approach with the ability to make decisions under pressure.
• A genuine passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional customer service.
