Job summary

Celestica Inc. in Galway, Ireland seeks an Operations Engineering Support 2 (Automation) for the D shift (8pm–8am). You will provide factory systems support in a highly automated environment, implement continuous improvements to maximize equipment efficiency and robustness.

This role involves troubleshooting high-speed assembly machines, sustaining PLC programs, robot calibration, and maintaining networked systems to ensure production targets are met.

Qualifications

• Competent PLC programmer.
• Experience with Ethernet and serial communication.
• Experience with HMIs, PLCs and Remote I/O networks.
• Robot programming experience.
• Knowledge of electrical systems including Power and AC/DC.
• Strong problem solving skills.
• Experience with Allen Bradley PLC 5, SLC500 and ControlLogix.
• Knowledge of servo control systems.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot high-speed automated assembly machines.
• Sustain and modify machine PLC programs.
• Troubleshoot and replace faulty electrical components.
• Calibrate and maintain robots.
• Install, configure and maintain barcode scanning equipment.
• Ensure full product tracking data is captured at process points.
• Provide final Third Level technical support.
• Contribute to efficiency projects via code upgrades.
• Record issue resolutions in central database for multiple lines.
• Work to ensure performance targets are met.
• Install, configure and maintain computer networks (LANs/WANs/Intranets).
