Job summary

Celestica, Inc. in Galway, Ireland, seeks an Automation Technician for 2nd shift to support highly automated production environments. You will troubleshoot fast lines, sustain PLC programs, and maintain robotics and bar-code systems to maximize equipment efficiency.

The role requires hands-on PLC experience, electrical design knowledge, and the ability to provide Tier 3 technical support across multiple lines. A Level 6 Electrical & Automation qualification is preferred.

Qualifications

• 2 - 4 years+ experience as an Automation Technician or equivalent experience.
• Working knowledge of PLC codes and electrical designs.
• Systems hardware/software support to highly automated high speed assembly lines.
• Good analytical skills for problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot high speed automated assembly machines.
• Sustain machine PLC programs.
• Troubleshoot and replace faulty electrical components.
• Calibration and maintenance of robots.
• Installation, configuration maintenance of bar code scanning equipment.
• Ensure full product tracking data captured at various process points.
• Provides Final Third Level support on all technical issues.
• Contribute to efficiency improvement projects through code upgrades.
• Provide technical support to multiple lines and record issue resolutions in central database.
• Work proactively to ensure performance targets are met.
• Installing, configuring, and maintaining computer networks, including LANs, WANs, and intranets.
