Job summary

European Tech Recruit is recruiting an experienced Automation Engineer to join a major pharmaceutical manufacturing site in Dublin. The role offers frontline automation support across Inspection and Packaging operations within a 24/7 environment.

The position involves troubleshooting and resolving automation issues, supporting PLC/HMI systems, and contributing to commissioning, qualification and lifecycle activities, while ensuring GxP compliance and collaboration with Manufacturing, Engineering

Qualifications

• Degree in Automation, Electrical, Electronic or Controls Engineering.
• 2–5+ years of experience with automated control systems.
• Experience with Siemens and/or Rockwell PLC/HMI systems is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Provide frontline automation support to manufacturing and packaging equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve automation and controls issues.
• Support PLC, HMI and automated control systems.
• Investigate faults and drive issues to resolution.
• Support commissioning, qualification and lifecycle activities.

Job description

We are currently looking for an experienced Automation Engineer to join a major pharmaceutical manufacturing site in Dublin.

This is a long-term contract opportunity working within a 24/7 manufacturing environment, providing frontline automation support across Inspection & Packaging operations.

The Role:

• Provide frontline automation support to manufacturing and packaging equipment
• Troubleshoot and resolve automation and controls issues
• Support PLC, HMI and automated control systems
• Investigate equipment/system faults and drive issues through to resolution
• Support commissioning, qualification and ongoing lifecycle activities
• Work closely with Manufacturing, Engineering and Maintenance teams
• Support change controls and technical documentation
• Ensure all work is completed in line with GxP and site procedures

What we're looking for:

• Degree/qualification in Automation, Electrical, Electronic, Controls Engineering or a related discipline
• Approximately 2-5+ years' experience working with automated control systems
• Experience with Siemens and/or Rockwell systems would be highly beneficial
• Previous experience within Pharmaceutical, Medical Device or another regulated manufacturing environment is preferred
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment

Working Pattern: 4-cycle, 12-hour shift pattern - days & nights (7am-7pm / 7pm-7am)
