Job summary

Manpower - Ireland is seeking an Automation (Control Systems) Engineer for a 6-month contract in Dublin. The role focuses on supporting production operations, upgrading control systems, and driving continuous improvement within a highly regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.

The role offers exposure to Siemens/Rockwell automation, collaboration across engineering and quality teams, and potential extension based on project needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher in Automation/Controls/Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience supporting automated manufacturing environments in regulated industries.
• Strong PLC, HMI and SCADA troubleshooting abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day automation and control systems support.
• Troubleshoot PLC, HMI and SCADA systems.
• Deliver control system upgrades and continuous improvement projects.
• Support root cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Manage change controls and validation activities.
• Develop SOPs, specifications and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Maintenance and Quality teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day automation and control systems support
• Troubleshoot PLC, HMI and SCADA systems
• Deliver control system upgrades and continuous improvement projects
• Support root cause investigations and corrective actions
• Manage change controls and validation activities
• Develop SOPs, specifications and technical documentation
• Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Maintenance and Quality teams

Requirements

• Qualification in Automation, Controls, Electrical Engineering or related discipline
• Experience supporting automated manufacturing environments
• Strong PLC, HMI and SCADA troubleshooting experience
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Desirable Experience

• Pharmaceutical, biotechnology or medical device experience
• Siemens and/or Rockwell automation platforms
• GMP and computerised systems validation knowledge
• Industrial networking and OT systems experience
