Job description

My client is seeking an experienced Audit Senior Manager with a background in the insurance sector. The practice has grown significantly following recent changes in audit reform legislation and this role offers strong career progression opportunities, working with a diverse range of high-profile financial institutions. You will collaborate with international colleagues on cross-border assignments, develop close working relationships with Directors and Partners, and contribute to the ongoing development of the Financial Services division.

The role requires strong technical expertise, interpersonal skills, and the ability to build effective client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Developing and managing a portfolio of Insurance clients
• Supporting business development activities alongside Partners and Directors
• Managing the financial aspects of the client portfolio, including budgeting, fee negotiation, billing, and cash collection
• Leading and supervising large audit assignments
• Planning and resourcing staff effectively on engagements
• Building and maintaining strong relationships across the firm and collaborating with other business areas
• Contributing to the strategic direction of the Insurance team, both internally (quality and standards) and externally (market positioning)
• Communicating team goals clearly, setting aligned objectives, monitoring performance, and providing timely feedback and support
• Recruiting, developing, and promoting team members while ensuring equal opportunities
• Managing client expectations, addressing issues promptly, and fostering collaborative relationships
• Contributing to learning and development initiatives, including coaching junior staff and participating in internal training

Requirements

• Qualified accountant with a minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience in insurance audit within a large practice environment
• Proven experience in leading and operationally supervising large audit assignments
• Strong technical proficiency in IFRS, FRS 102, and Solvency II
• Demonstrated ability to develop and manage high-performing teams
• Excellent organisational and project management skills
• Strong interpersonal and client relationship skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
