Job summary

Crowe Ireland is seeking an experienced Audit Manager to join our Dublin team. You will work with the Audit Director (RI) to deliver high-quality assurance assignments and lead a team of trainees and qualified accountants across a varied client portfolio.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Accountant with ACA/ACCA or equivalent and 3+ years PQE in practice.
  • Experience managing client portfolios, deadlines and communications.
  • Ability to lead and supervise trainees and staff.
  • Strong knowledge of Irish GAAP, ISAs Ireland and Irish tax.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a diverse portfolio of assurance clients and ensure timely delivery to a high standard.
  • Mentor and motivate trainees and junior staff; participate in performance management.
  • Assist with tenders, fee quotes and business development opportunities.
  • Oversee project management: planning, scheduling, WIP, billing and recoveries.
  • Support Audit Director RI and develop client relationships across sectors.

JOB PURPOSE

We are seeking a talented, experienced Audit Manager to join our growing audit team. You will work closely with an Audit Director (RI), to deliver high-quality assurance and accounting assignments to a varied portfolio of dynamic clients, and you will manage a team of motivated and capable trainees and qualified accountants.

KEY RESULT AREAS
  • Managing a diverse and interesting portfolio of assurance clients and ensuring that assurance assignments are planned, executed, reviewed, and completed in a timely manner to an excellent standard.
  • Managing, mentoring, and motivating trainees and part and fully qualified seniors ensuring that constructive feedback is provided from assignments/reports and fully participating in all Performance Management initiatives as required. Deliver on and off the job training as required.
  • Participate and assist when required with tenders and / or fee quotes.
  • Take ownership of business development opportunities assigned to you.
  • Manage assurance assignment planning, scheduling, optimum team composition, WIP, billings, timesheets, recoveries and ensure adherence to our firm's compliance and regulatory standards.
  • Assist the Audit Director (RI) in the provision of advice to clients and work with audit director (RI) - on a variety of ad-hoc projects as they arise.
  • Manage client relationships. Contact, liaise and foster business relationships with your portfolio of clients.
  • Participate, as required, in the department strategy.
  • Proactively liaise and build effective working relationships with firm staff in all disciplines (Audit, Tax, Company Secretarial Corporate Finance etc.) to facilitate and support the firm.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
  • A qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) with 3 plus years relevant practice PQE.
  • Demonstratable understanding of managing a portfolio of clients, the relevant filing deadlines, and successful deadline management.
  • Demonstrable experience of effectively managing direct client communications.
  • Excellent analytical skills, purposeful, proactive and ability to work on own initiative.
  • Good practical knowledge and understanding of Irish taxes.
  • Ability to lead and supervise team members and to foster and develop the existing excellent team culture.
  • Experience in using CaseWare would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Excellent theoretical and practical knowledge of Irish GAAP, International Standards on Auditing (Ireland) (ISAs (Ireland)) and Irish company law.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with clients and provide excellent service.
  • Ability to work on a diverse range of clients across multiple sectors.
  • Proven Project Management skills together with the ability to handle multiple tasks / projects concurrently in a practice environment.
  • People Leadership: Proven ability to listen, build rapport, influence, and build relationships. Keen to develop career into a more senior management role. Proven experience in supervising trainee accountants.
  • Practice Management: Proven ability to focus on performance, meeting deadlines and producing results. A proven decision maker, evidence of sound judgement and common sense.
  • Client Leadership: Displays confidentiality, confidence, agility and affinity with client and sector specialisms.
  • Business Development: A strategic thinker, takes ownership of learning, empathy with client needs, seeks way to improve. Evidence of enthusiasm and keeps abreast of developments in this sector.
