Job summary

Brightwater Recruitment is seeking an Audit Director to take ownership of a significant client portfolio and lead end-to-end audit delivery from planning through sign-off. You will mentor teams, advise on governance and risk, and directly influence the direction of the audit function.

With ACA/ACCA and 8+ years' post-qualification experience, you will drive technical excellence, client stewardship and practice economics, while partnering with senior leadership to grow the business and pursue

Brightwater is retained on an exclusive basis to lead this search for an Audit Director, joining a firm where senior professionals are trusted, visible and genuinely developed.

What you'll own

Leading the end to end delivery of a broad audit portfolio, from planning through to sign-off. Reviewing audit files and financial statements to ensure technical excellence and regulatory compliance. Acting as a senior technical and commercial sounding board to audit teams and Partners. Managing WIP, billing, recoverability, resourcing and scheduling across your portfolio. Building trusted, senior level client relationships. Advising clients on audit planning, governance and risk management. Leading, mentoring and developing Managers, Assistant Managers, Seniors and Trainees. Playing a key role in departmental strategy and quality initiatives. Contributing to tenders, proposals and fee negotiations, and growing your own client portfolio.

What you'll bring

ACA or ACCA (or equivalent) qualified, with 8+ years' post qualification experience in professional practice. A strong technical audit background across a range of sectors.
