The National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA) is seeking a Corporate Finance Associate for the New Economy and Recovery Authority (NewERA) on a 23-month fixed-term programme starting September 2027. It targets graduates with degrees in Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting or Commerce.
You will work across portfolio companies, supporting financial analysis, briefing notes and recommendations for senior stakeholders, with a focus on climate-related and capital initiatives.

The National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA) provides asset and liability management services to the Irish Government. It has evolved from a single function agency managing the National Debt to a manager of a complex portfolio of public assets and liabilities.
Businesses managed by the NTMA include borrowing on behalf of the Government and the management of the National Debt, the State Claims Agency, the New Economy and Recovery Authority (NewERA), the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund, National Development Finance Agency and the NTMA Future Ireland Funds business unit with responsibility for the management of the Future Ireland Fund and Infrastructure, Climate and Nature Fund.
The NTMA also assigns staff to the Strategic Banking Corporation of Ireland (SBCI) and Home Building Finance Ireland (HBFI).
This is an exciting opportunity for talented and motivated graduates to join the NewERA unit of the NTMA on a 23-month Associate Programme commencing in September 2027. The programme is open to graduates with a degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline.
NewERA provides a dedicated centre of corporate finance expertise to the Government. Its core role is to provide financial and commercial advice to Government Ministers in relation to major commercial State companies (together, the Portfolio Companies): AirNav Ireland, An Post, Bord na Móna, Coillte, Córas Iompair Éireann (including Dublin Bus, Iarnród Éireann and Bus Éireann), daa, Dublin Port Company, EirGrid, Gas Networks Ireland, ESB, Housing Finance Agency, Irish Aviation Authority, Land Development Agency, Port of Cork, Port of Waterford, Shannon Foynes Port Company, Shannon Airport Group, RTÉ, TG4, Uisce Éireann and Vhi.
NewERA’s approach is to facilitate an enhanced level of active ownership by the State as shareholder in the Portfolio Companies. Combined, the State as shareholder has over €37bn of capital invested in the Portfolio Companies.
As part of its financial advisory role, NewERA also assists Government in monitoring the delivery by the Portfolio Companies of their climate action targets and periodically reports to Government on developments in sustainable finance. It also works with the Portfolio Companies and public bodies, to identify priority opportunities in key sectors to mobilise private investment towards assisting in meeting our climate objectives.

The Associate will be required to work alongside all colleagues across the full range of NewERA’s activities. The Associate will support the NewERA team through day-to-day duties including but not limited to, the below tasks:
At the end of the programme the successful Associate will have developed a solid knowledge base of NewERA and the wider NTMA.
Typically, Associates within this division also undertake professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, CFA. They are supported through the full range of NTMA study supports, complemented by a comprehensive Associate Development Programme, an Associate network spanning the NTMA, and extensive on-the-job learning opportunities.

Successful candidates will have a minimum of a 2.1 honours degree or a minimum of a 2.1 Masters, ideally in a related discipline.
