National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA) invites graduates to join the NDFA (Financial Advisory) on a 23-month Associate Programme commencing in September 2027. The NDFA advises on infrastructure projects with large capital values and supports PPP delivery for state authorities.
The Associate will work across the NDFA’s activities, performing financial analysis, modelling, review of contracts, and portfolio monitoring while engaging with a range of public sector clients and financing
The National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA) provides asset and liability management services to the Irish Government. It has evolved from a single function agency managing the National Debt to a manager of a complex portfolio of public assets and liabilities.
Businesses managed by the NTMA include borrowing on behalf of the Government and the management of the National Debt, the State Claims Agency, the New Economy and Recovery Authority (“NewERA”), the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund, National Development Finance Agency and the NTMA Future Ireland Funds business unit with responsibility for the management of the Future Ireland Fund and Infrastructure, Climate and Nature Fund.
The NTMA also assigns staff to the Strategic Banking Corporation of Ireland (SBCI) and Home Building Finance Ireland (HBFI).
This is an exciting opportunity for talented and motivated graduates to join the NDFA (Financial Advisory) on a 23-month Associate Programme commencing in September 2027. The programme is open to graduates with a degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline.
The NDFA provides financial advice to State authorities on infrastructure projects with a capital value over €75 million and is also responsible for the delivery of Public Private Partnership (PPP) projects for State authorities (with certain exceptions such as Transport Infrastructure Ireland). In addition, the NDFA provides asset management services in respect of the operation and maintenance of PPP facilities. It also delivers Exchequer Funded capital projects on behalf of certain State authorities, including the Department of Education and Youth and certain local authorities. Following the publication of the Government’s Accelerating Infrastructure Report and Action Plan the NDFA also provides support and assistance to Government Departments and Agencies on major capital infrastructure projects.
The Associate will be required to work alongside all colleagues across the full range of the NDFA (Financial Advisory) activities. At the end of the programme the successful Associate will have developed a solid knowledge base of the NDFA and the wider NTMA.
Typically, Associates within this division also undertake professional qualifications such as ACA, ACCA or CFA. They are supported through the full range of NTMA study supports, complemented by a comprehensive Associate Development Programme, an Associate network spanning the NTMA, and extensive on-the-job learning opportunities.

Successful candidates will have a minimum of a 2.1 honours degree or a minimum of a 2.1 Masters, ideally in a related discipline.
