The National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA) invites graduates to join the Funding and Debt Management (FDM) unit on a 23-month Associate Programme starting in September 2027. Rotations cover Primary, Secondary, Cash, Operations, Fiscal, Economics and Retail, building broad debt management experience.
Successful candidates will hold a 2.1 honours degree or a 2.1 Masters in a numerate field such as Accounting, Finance or Economics and must have the legal right to work in Ireland.

The National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA) provides asset and liability management services to the Irish Government. It has evolved from a single function agency managing the National Debt to a manager of a complex portfolio of public assets and liabilities.
Businesses managed by the NTMA include borrowing on behalf of the Government and the management of the National Debt, the State Claims Agency, the New Economy and Recovery Authority (“NewERA”), the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund, National Development Finance Agency and the NTMA Future Ireland Funds business unit with responsibility for the management of the Future Ireland Fund and Infrastructure, Climate and Nature Fund.
The NTMA also assigns staff to the Strategic Banking Corporation of Ireland (SBCI) and Home Building Finance Ireland (HBFI).
This is an exciting opportunity for talented and motivated graduates to join the FDM unit of the NTMA on a 23-month Associate Programme commencing in September 2027. The programme is open to graduates with a degree in Accounting / Engineering / Finance / Economics / Commerce or a related discipline / degree with a numerical background.
FDM is responsible for borrowing on behalf of the Government and managing the National Debt in order to ensure liquidity for the Exchequer and to minimize the interest burden over the medium term. In addition to its core functions of borrowing for the Exchequer and debt management, the FDM Unit performs several other functions including:
Typically, Associates within this division also undertake professional examinations, and will be offered the full range of NTMA supports in this regard combined with a detailed associate training programme and associate network across the NTMA in addition to on the job training. They are supported through the full range of NTMA study supports, complemented by a comprehensive Associate Development Programme, an Associate network spanning the NTMA, and extensive on-the-job learning opportunities.

Successful candidates will have a minimum of a 2.1 honours degree or a minimum of a 2.1 Masters, ideally in a related discipline.
