Job summary

ArraTipp Co-operative, Ballysimon Road, Limerick, seeks an Assistant Production Manager to oversee the Animal Feed Mill operations, ensuring product quality, safety and service standards while coordinating production and maintenance teams.

You will drive continuous improvement, lead cost control and planning, and report to the Production Manager to optimise mill performance and customer fulfilment.

Qualifications

• Formal qualification in Production Management/Engineering preferred.
• Minimum 3-5 years in a management role in a manufacturing environment.
• Animal feeds manufacturing experience highly desirable.

Business Division: Agri Feeds Job Title: Assistant Production Manager Job Purpose: To manage and coordinate the activities of the Animal Feed Mill so as to optimise the performance of the facility and ensure products are manufactured and dispatched to the highest standards and service levels. Reporting to: Production Manager Location: Dan O'Connor Feeds, Ballysimon Road, Limerick

Responsibilities

• Ensure the manufacture of products to the highest standards in the safest, most cost effective and efficient manner.
• Fully utilise and harness the Production and Maintenance Teams' capability through effective leadership, processes that are consistently applied and accurately measured against the business objectives.
• Staffing planning and ensuring team optimisation whilst controlling costs.
• Production planning to ensure production schedules meet customer requirements and service levels.
• Develop a hands-on understanding of all aspects of the operation, including the equipment/software interface
• Develop reporting structures and provide coaching, training, development and performance management for key reports.
• Continually strive to improve employee engagement and effective communications.
• Ensure department mechanical performance is maintained and improved together with the outsourced maintenance function.
• Identify and implement process improvements in conjunction with key stakeholders
• Be fully accountable for health and safety and be responsible for the development and continuous evolution of the health and safety culture.
• Ensure consistent adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Maintain and drive quality standards in process, people and product.
• Project manage the implementation of capital expenditure programmes
• Compile and adhere to annual budgets for the mill
• Capacity plan for existing and future products
• Lead cost reduction initiatives within the plant to improve the cost competitiveness of the manufacturing facility.
• Ensure there is a comprehensive programme of continuous improvement.
• Report and communicate effectively with the senior management team on an ongoing basis.
• Develop and maintain relationships pertinent to the development of the role and growth of the business.

Qualifications required for this role:

Formal qualification in Production Management/Engineering Discipline preferred Minimum of 3-5 years in a management role in a manufacturing environment desirable Animal feeds manufacturing experience highly desirable Core Competencies (Behaviours, Knowledge, Skills): A proven track record of production management in a best practice environment Excellent people management experience, project and change management, problem solving, leadership and communication skills. The ability to continually improve the quality and effectiveness of all activities.
