The Assistant Manager plays a key leadership role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the hotel while on duty. Working as part of a team of three Assistant Managers on alternate shifts, this role requires a highly motivated and proactive individual with a passion for hospitality and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest service at all times.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of all hotel departments while on duty, ensuring smooth coordination and communication across teams.
- Ensure that consistently high standards of customer service are delivered in all areas of the hotel.
- Manage and confirm meeting room bookings and correspondence with guests in a timely and professional manner.
- Attend and actively participate in fortnightly Management and Heads of Department meetings.
- Communicate relevant information effectively and professionally to all departments to ensure alignment and consistency.
- Monitor and maintain the exterior presentation of the hotel daily, ensuring all areas reflect the property’s standards.
- Ensure that all control systems and operational procedures are adhered to at all times.
- Conduct thorough and detailed shift handovers with fellow Assistant Managers and the Night Team to ensure seamless continuity of service and operations.
Customer Service:
- Deliver efficient, warm, and professional service to all guests.
- Uphold the Mespil Hotel’s core service standards and brand values.
- Respond to guest queries and complaints with empathy and professionalism.
- Foster a positive atmosphere for both guests and colleagues.
Health & Safety:
- Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental protocols in the hotel.
- Promptly report any hazards, incidents, accidents, or near misses.
- Promote safe working practices and ensure team compliance with safety standards.
Other Duties:
- Participate in relevant training programs to support personal and professional development.
- Serve on internal hotel committees as required.
- Assist with duties across departments as needed.
- Contribute to the hotel's sustainability initiatives, including reducing waste, conserving energy, and minimising water usage.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience in a supervisory or management role in a similar hotel environment in either Reception, Food and Beverage and Accommodation departments.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage guest complaints with professionalism and tact.
- Familiarity with health and safety legislation and hotel standards.
- Proficiency in Opera PMS is essential.
- High personal grooming and presentation standards.
