AAB in Cork is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join our dynamic client service team. The role covers year-end statutory statements, management accounts, VAT, and reconciliation work across SME portfolios.

You will work with colleagues across service lines to ensure timely delivery, maintain up-to-date technical knowledge, and build strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• Qualified or Part Qualified ACA/ACCA or equivalent.
• Experience in accountancy practice and SME clients.
• Experience preparing statutory accounts.
• Strong reconciliation and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and cloud accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare year-end statutory financial statements for varied client portfolio.
• Assist with management accounts, budgets and forecasts.
• Prepare and review VAT returns and deadlines compliance.
• Perform reconciliations (bank, debtor, creditor).
• Liaise with colleagues across service lines to ensure timely delivery.
• Maintain technical knowledge of accounting and regulatory developments.
• Utilise accounting software to support service delivery.
• Build relationships with clients as a point of contact; identify value-add opportunities.
