Symmetry Recruitment is hiring an Asset Manager in Ireland to lead a national fleet, optimise short-term rental and used equipment, and drive revenue growth.

You will work with the Leadership Team to align commercial strategy, asset performance and forecasting, while developing the team and ensuring asset utilisation across the lifecycle.

Salary: Up to €80,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are recruiting an experienced Asset Manager on behalf of a well-established, market-leading organisation operating within the material handling and equipment sector.

This is a senior commercial and operational position with responsibility for driving the performance and growth of the short-term rental and used equipment business, while playing a key role in the management and optimisation of a significant national fleet.

Working as part of the Leadership Team, you will combine commercial strategy, asset management, sales performance, forecasting and people leadership to maximise fleet utilisation, revenue and return on assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Proactively manage, develop and grow the Short-Term Rental business, delivering against annual unit and revenue targets.
• Understand market opportunities and use commercial insight to identify areas for growth.
• Optimise the sales funnel and manage sales team activity to improve conversion and performance.
• Produce accurate and timely sales, revenue and fleet forecasts.
• Drive end-user sales of used equipment and maximise asset disposal values.
• Develop and implement departmental budgets, financial controls and performance reporting.
• Manage regional stock levels and storage capacity.
• Work as an active member of the Leadership Team to effectively manage the national fleet.
• Oversee fleet additions and disposals, utilisation, stock availability, peak planning, equipment condition and fleet age profile.
• Monitor departmental KPIs and performance, identifying issues and implementing appropriate recovery actions.Manage, coach and develop team members to improve capability and performance.
• Ensure assets are effectively utilised throughout their lifecycle to maximise commercial returns.

About You

We are looking for a commercially minded Asset Manager with experience managing physical assets, fleets, rental operations or equipment.

You will ideally demonstrate:

• Experience in the valuation, management, sale and disposal of physical assets.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to understand revenue, margin, utilisation and return on assets.
• Experience working within a target-driven commercial environment.
• Strong numerical, analytical and forecasting capabilities.
• High levels of IT literacy and confidence working with commercial and operational data.
• A proven ability to identify opportunities and grow business.
• Experience managing and developing teams.
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to operate effectively at Leadership Team level.

Experience within material handling, automotive, equipment hire/leasing, plant, agricultural machinery or construction equipment would be particularly advantageous.
