Job summary

Sheridans Cheesemongers in Dublin is seeking an Assistant Team Leader to support the counter team at Cornelscourt. You will work with the Team Leader to ensure smooth day-to-day operations, especially on busy trading days.

The role offers training in Irish and European food production and culture, with in-house learning and hands-on experience. Weekend work is required, with a 5-day week within a dynamic retail environment focused on quality food and service.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in food retail.
• At least 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience.
• Strong interest in artisan and specialty foods, particularly Irish and European cheeses.
• HACCP training and commitment to food safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily counter operations with Team Leader.
• Lead and guide cheesemonger team during shifts.
• Foster a positive team culture with high morale.
• Assist stock control, orders, and stock queries.
• Maintain HACCP-compliant cleanliness and food safety.
• Support tastings, supplier visits, and in-store promos.
• Handle customer queries, complaints, and returns.
• Coordinate with Retail Management Team and host store.
• Carry out other duties to ensure smooth operation.
