Job summary

Sheridan's Cheesemongers Ltd. seeks a friendly, knowledgeable Cheesemonger for our Rathmines counter in Dunnes Stores. You will engage customers with stories about Irish and European cheeses, sample products, and promote artisan food producers.

The role requires passion for cheese, strong communication, and a willingness to learn through our in-house training. 40-hour week across all seven days, staff discount on Sheridan's products included.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential.
• Excellent knowledge and appreciation of Irish and European farmhouse cheese.
• HACCP trained or awareness of HACCP in retail environments.
• Genuine interest in cheese and local, artisan foods.
• Self-motivated with ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Available to work 40 hours per week across all 7 days, including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and drive sales in a fast-paced environment.
• Maintain Sheridan's Cheesemongers' high standard of service and unique approach.
• Tell stories of local food and producers while promoting food culture.
• Educate customers about Sheridan's products and services and about Irish & European producers.
• Learn all current products and be familiar with dairy, deli, ambient categories.
• Move and maintain displays; ensure product signs are accurate and up to date.
• Assist with stock control, HACCP documentation and allergen information.
