Job description

Salary: €52,000–€62,000 per year, depending on experience, plus a performance bonus of up to 10% of base salary .

Coffeeangel is looking for an experienced, commercially minded Area Manager to lead a portfolio of our coffee shops across Dublin, with travel to Monaghan required. You will be the link between our Shop Managers and senior leadership—turning standards, plans and targets into consistently excellent day-to-day execution.

This is a visible, hands‑on leadership role. You will spend substantial time in shops: coaching managers, supporting teams during busy periods, solving problems quickly and ensuring each location delivers excellent coffee, genuine hospitality and sustainable commercial performance.
You will report to the General Manager and Operations Manager and directly lead Shop Managers across your assigned locations.

What you’ll do

  • Lead operational performance across a portfolio of shops, ensuring exceptional coffee quality, food safety, HACCP, cleanliness, cash handling and site security.
  • Coach, develop and performance-manage Shop Managers, building strong leadership capability, succession plans and retention.
  • Own shop-level commercial performance: sales, labour cost, stock, wastage and other core KPIs; identify variances and put practical improvement plans in place.
  • Complete regular shop visits, audits and follow-up actions, ensuring consistent standards across every location.
  • Partner with Shop Managers on recruitment, onboarding, training and team performance.
  • Resolve escalated customer issues with sound judgement and a service-led approach.
  • Support new shop openings, including site readiness, staffing and operational set-up.
  • Maintain compliance with food safety, health and safety, and Irish employment requirements.

What you’ll bring

  • At least three years’ experience as an Area Manager, Regional Manager, Multi‑site Manager or equivalent leadership role in hospitality, retail or another fast‑paced customer‑facing business.
  • Demonstrable responsibility for P&L, budgets and commercial KPIs across multiple locations, including sales, labour cost, stock and wastage.
  • A strong track record of coaching, developing and performance‑managing managers and hourly‑paid teams.
  • Working knowledge of HACCP, food safety and health‑and‑safety requirements.
  • Confidence using EPOS, rota/scheduling and stock‑management systems; experience with Square, Tenzo or Apicbase is particularly relevant.
  • The right to work in Ireland.
  • Ability and willingness to work hands‑on in shops when required, and to travel regularly between Coffeeangel locations, including Monaghan.
  • Specialty‑coffee experience and/or SCA qualifications.
  • A full driving licence.

What you’ll get

  • Salary of €52,000–€62,000, depending on experience.
  • Performance bonus of up to 10% of base salary.
  • A senior operational role with genuine ownership and visible impact across an independent, growing specialty‑coffee business.
  • Structured leadership development through the Coffeeangel Academy.
  • A collaborative team culture where operational excellence, people development and great hospitality are valued equally.
