Job summary

Electricity Supply Board seeks an Apprentice Supervisor to oversee apprentices in the Southern Regions. You will implement SOLAS training, coordinate with the Training teams, and ensure safety and performance across the programme.

The role requires strong leadership, detailed knowledge of ESB Networks operations, and a commitment to delivering high-quality apprenticeship outcomes within a hybrid work setup.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience.
• Knowledge of the Apprenticeship System in the Republic of Ireland.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and reporting skills.
• High level of Technical Competence and knowledge of Construction, Maintenance and Operations of Networks assets.
• Quality approach to the management of data.
• Flexible approach to work to ensure excellent customer service.
• Knowledge of ESB’s Corporate IT systems.
• Ability to work to tight delivery timeframes and busy schedules.
• Full clean driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Manage apprentices to ensure successful completion of SOLAS on-job and off-job phases and all training.
• Engage with Technical Training & Development teams to deliver the apprentice programme.
• Engage with business line supervisors and apprentices to ensure compliance with the Apprentice Supervision Policy.
• Monitor and promote Apprentice Safety through onsite behavioural audits.
• Collaborate with the Technical Competence Specialist team to promote technical learning of apprentices.
• Provide leadership to ensure apprentices acquire knowledge of ESB Networks plant, equipment and procedures.
• Manage competence levels to ensure apprentices complete technical projects and progress through the apprenticeship.
• Manage apprentice performance including grievance and disciplinary issues.
• Liaise with SOLAS on scheduling, progress, attendance and payments.
• Engage with stakeholders for apprentice recruitment, streaming and Year 4 recruitment processes.
• Manage induction, rotation, attendance, expenses, payroll, PPE and tools for apprentices.
