Job summary

MCS Group | Your Specialist Recruitment Consultancy in Ireland is seeking an Application Support Analyst to join its IT team. You will work on ERP systems, SQL, APIs and integrations, investigating production issues and supporting business-critical applications in a hybrid environment.

You'll collaborate with developers, analysts and vendors, use Postman for API testing, and contribute to incident management and system improvements.

Qualifications

• 4+ years IT experience with at least 2 years in application/ERP support or similar role.
• Experience supporting ERP systems (Infor, SAP, Dynamics 365, Oracle or similar).
• Strong hands-on SQL skills including joins and subqueries.
• Experience troubleshooting APIs and integrations, preferably with Postman.
• Understanding REST, SOAP, JSON, XML and data flows between systems.
• Experience investigating live production issues and ITSM processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and functional support across ERP systems, custom apps and integrations.
• Investigate and resolve application issues in live production environments.
• Use SQL queries to investigate data discrepancies and validate transactions.
• Test and troubleshoot REST and SOAP APIs using Postman or similar tools.
• Monitor and troubleshoot B2B integrations, data feeds and scheduled processes.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts and vendors to resolve issues.

Are you an Application Support Analyst who enjoys getting to the root of technical problems rather than simply resolving tickets?

I'm working with an established business looking to hire an Application Support Analyst to join its IT team. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience across ERP systems, SQL, APIs and application integrations who wants to develop their technical skills further.

This isn't your typical application support role. You'll be working with business-critical applications, investigating production issues, troubleshooting integrations and understanding how different systems communicate with one another.

What You'll Be Doing

• Providing technical and functional support across ERP systems, custom applications and business integrations.
• Investigating and resolving application issues within live production environments.
• Using SQL queries to investigate data discrepancies, validate transactions and troubleshoot application issues.
• Testing and troubleshooting REST and SOAP APIs using Postman or similar tools.
• Monitoring and troubleshooting B2B integrations, automated data feeds and scheduled processes.
• Working closely with developers, business analysts and third-party vendors to resolve complex technical issues.
• Managing incidents, service requests and changes through an ITSM platform.
• Identifying recurring problems and contributing to system improvements, documentation and root cause analysis.

What We're Looking For

• 4+ years' experience in IT, including at least 2 years in application support, ERP support or a similar technical role.
• Previous experience supporting an ERP system, such as Infor, SAP, Dynamics 365, Oracle or similar.
• Strong hands-on SQL skills, including joins, filtering, subqueries and data investigation.
• Experience troubleshooting APIs and integrations, ideally using Postman.
• Understanding of REST, SOAP, JSON, XML and data flows between systems.
• Experience investigating issues in live production environments.
• A methodical approach to troubleshooting and strong communication skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Infor M3 / CloudSuite, Infor ION or related technologies.
• Knowledge of Azure Application Insights, New Relic or similar monitoring tools.
• Scripting experience with PowerShell, Python or Bash.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and ITSM platforms such as Freshservice.
• Experience working in distribution, logistics, warehousing or manufacturing environments.
