Job summary

Vantage Resources in Dublin is seeking an experienced Application Support professional for a 12-month contract. You will monitor and support live Java applications, investigate production issues, and perform root cause analysis.

Responsibilities include developing fixes, writing specs and user stories, and conducting unit/integration tests, while maintaining Jira records and documentation. Strong communication and problem-solving are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in Java development in live/production environments.
• Knowledge of Web Services, WebLogic and XML.
• Experience with relational databases and ETL technologies.
• Strong unit, integration testing experience (JUnit).
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.

What’s involved:

• Create and maintain functional specifications and user stories.
• Develop, unit test and integration test code.
• Participate in code reviews and maintain coding/testing standards.
• Support system testing and resolve issues during migration to test environments.
• Maintain Jira requirements, work logs and technical documentation.

What you need:

• 5+ years’ experience in Java development, ideally working in a live/production environment.
• Knowledge of Web Services, WebLogic and XML.
• Experience with relational databases and ETL technologies.
• Strong JUnit, unit and integration testing experience.
• Angular/AngularJS experience is desirable.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
