Job summary

The Recruitment Company is seeking a Senior Java Developer for a 12-month contract in Galway, with hybrid working. You will join a large-scale modernization programme, building cloud-native services with Java, Spring Boot, and modern tooling.

You will work across applications at different stages; some new builds, some migrations to cloud. Knowledge of AWS and Kubernetes is desirable; frontend exposure with React or Angular is a plus, and familiarity with PL/SQL is beneficial.

Job description

Senior Java Developer 12 month contract Galway (hybrid working) Upto €550/day Long term contracting role available for a Seasoned back end Java developer to help work on a large scale modernisation programme. You’ll work across various applications that are at various stages, the overall programme is based around modernisation of legacy systems. Some parts of the apps are entirely built from scratch while other are being migrated to new tech / cloud based systems. You will get exposure to many modern tools and tech including AI tooling.

Desired Skills / Experience

• 8+ years Java development experience, we want people that really understand what goes on underneath the hood.
• Strong knowledge of Spring Boot and building scalable, cloud native services PL/SQL, we understand its used less frequently than before but past experience or an aptitude to get up to speed here would be useful.
• Cloud experience - capable with building cloud services on AWS, exposure to Kubernetes etc.
• Some FE exposure is nice to have but not essential - React / Angular etc.
