Job summary

Kids Inc. is hiring an Area Manager to oversee Afterschool Care services across Leinster.

The role involves leadership of Centre Managers, ensuring safety, quality and regulatory compliance, and promoting a positive, inclusive culture across multiple centres. The successful candidate will have management experience in childcare, a Level 6 qualification, driving licence, and will engage with families, staff and school partners while travel between centres is required.

Qualifications

  • Previous management experience within childcare, education, or related sector.
  • Level 6 qualification in Early Childhood Care and Education or related discipline.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
  • Strong safeguarding, child welfare, and regulatory knowledge.
  • Flexible, proactive approach to support multiple teams across locations.
  • Full, clean driving licence and access to own car.
  • Fluent spoken and written English.
  • Irish language desirable but not essential.
  • Willingness to complete Garda Vetting and references.

  • Overseeing day-to-day operations of multiple Afterschool Care services across Leinster.
  • Coaching, mentoring Centre Managers and their teams.
  • Monitoring service quality and maintaining high standards of care, safeguarding, and compliance.
  • Supporting Centre Managers with operational challenges and day-to-day service delivery.
  • Building positive relationships with children, families, school staff, and colleagues.
  • Supporting recruitment and team development across centres.
  • Carrying out regular centre visits and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Promoting a positive, inclusive culture across all services.

With over 25 years of experience in childcare, Kids Inc. is one of Ireland's leading providers of Early Years and Afterschool Care. We operate over 70 onsite Breakfast and Afterschool programmes nationwide, alongside our Creche and Preschool services.

We are currently recruiting an Area Manager to oversee our Afterschool Care services across Leinster.

Location

This is a Leinster-based role overseeing multiple Kids Inc. services across the region. Regular travel between centres is required.

About the Role

Our Afterschool programmes provide safe, welcoming, and engaging environments where children can relax, complete their homework, and take part in a wide range of fun and enriching activities at the end of the school day.

As an Area Manager, you will provide leadership and operational support across your portfolio of Leinster services. You'll work closely with Centre Managers and their teams, supporting them to deliver high-quality services and maintain the standards that Kids Inc is known for.

What You'll Be Doing

What We're Looking For
  • Previous management experience within the childcare, education, or a related sector.
  • A minimum Level 6 qualification in Early Childhood Care and Education or a related discipline.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child welfare, and regulatory requirements.
  • A flexible, proactive approach with the ability to support multiple teams across different locations.
  • A full, clean driving licence and access to your own car.
  • Fluent spoken and written English.
  • Fluency in Irish is desirable but not essential.
  • Willingness to complete Garda Vetting and reference checks.
