Job summary

This role supports the operation of the business by ensuring that pickups and deliveries meet the required schedules and that all paperwork is completed and updated.

You will drive, deliver and collect products, complete PODs, manage ADR tasks and collaborate with the Transport Desk to maintain accurate records while complying with safety and road regulations.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate warehouse machinery safely.
• Clean CE Driving Licence.
• Driver Card with up-to-date CPCs.
• ADR Certification.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and collect product according to instructions from Customer.
• Complete and return all POD’s and back up paperwork to Customer Service.
• Ensure customer material requests are delivered on time.
• Alert management on all potential delays/shortages/issues etc.
• Ensure that all freight is secure during transit.
• Ensure tachograph/driver card is fully operational and used in accordance with legislation.
• Carry out daily check on vehicle.
• Engage with Transport Desk to ensure accurate recording of information and activity.
• Take breaks as per the professional driver’s rest period guidelines.
• Adhere to the rules of the road at all times.
• Connect and disconnect trailers from cab when needed.
• Transport hazardous materials, which can range from flammable gases to corrosive substances.
• Adherence to safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of the driver, the public, and the environment.
• Provide support and advice regarding the specific regulations governing the transport of each type of hazardous material they may carry.
• Ensure proper loading and unloading of hazardous material.
• Ensure emergency response actions are adhered to in the event of an accident/spill.
• Ensure the correct use of safety equipment.
• Carry out regular checks on ADR equipment to ensure adherence to legislation.
• Support other departments in relation to customer activity data.
