Job summary

Raretec Recruitment Ltd is partnering with a leading life insurer to appoint an Actuarial Projects Lead in Dublin. The role is 50% office-based and reports to the Head of Actuarial Function, delivering complex actuarial projects and strategic change initiatives.

Ideal candidates are Qualified Life Actuaries with 5+ years post-qualification experience, capable of managing cross-functional teams, and driving Solvency II/IFRS governance and end-to-end delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead Strategic Actuarial Projects end-to-end and translate business requirements into actionable plans.
• Coordinate cross-functional execution across actuarial and broader teams.
• Modernize and streamline workflows, automating where possible to reduce EUC spreadsheets.
• Ensure governance and smooth BAU integration of new solutions.
• Provide expert actuarial challenge and strategic guidance with a 2–3 year horizon.
• Oversee project scope, resources, and timelines, keeping stakeholders informed at every stage.
• Champion organizational change and contribute to the actuarial strategy and broader vision.

A leading life insurer is hiring an Actuarial Projects Lead. This is a new role, and is ideal for a Qualified Life Actuary, with min. 5 years of post qualified experience. The role is 50% in office based in Dublin. It reports to the Head of Actuarial Function and will lead the delivery of actuarial projects and strategic change initiatives.

More about the position:

• Lead Strategic Actuarial Projects: Drive end-to-end delivery of complex actuarial reporting initiatives, translating high-level business requirements into structured, actionable delivery plans.
• Coordinate Cross-Functional Execution: Direct and align build, test, and development resources across actuarial and broader business teams using effective matrix management.
• Modernize & Streamline Workflows: Continuously optimize actuarial reporting bases, automating processes to significantly reduce reliance on EUC spreadsheets.
• Ensure Governance & Seamless BAU Integration: Maintain robust controls and governance frameworks while embedding new solutions smoothly into Business-As-Usual (BAU) operations.
• Drive Long-Term Strategic Value: Provide expert actuarial challenge, guidance, and recommendations to shape strategic initiatives with a 2–3 year impact horizon.
• Manage Plans & Stakeholders: Tightly oversee project scope, resources, and timelines, keeping key stakeholders proactively informed at every stage.
• Champion Change & Actuarial Vision: Take personal leadership accountability to champion organizational change, contribute to actuarial strategy, and help deliver the broader vision.
