Job summary

Barden is assisting a client in recruiting an Accounts Assistant on a full-time, permanent basis. This hands-on finance role supports a closing calendar and tight deadlines, with the focus on expense review and supplier AP ownership.

You will sit in a small Finance team reporting to the Financial Controller, handling AP tasks, payments, and process improvements while maintaining accuracy and timely financial data.

Qualifications

• Circa 1–2 years' Accounts Payable experience in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail, with excellent organisation, time management and prioritisation.
• Confident with Excel; Oracle experience or previous bookkeeping would be an advantage.
• Flexible and resourceful, with a real eagerness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Review expense transactions from all sources, making sure approval frameworks are followed.
• Own a portfolio of suppliers within Accounts Payable, resolving queries as they arise.
• Process transactions and prepare payment files for upload to the bank system.
• Support purchase order processes and corporate card administration.
• Assist with monthly management accounts, the reporting pack, and the annual audit.
• Look for ways to improve processes and efficiencies.

This is a hands-on finance role with real variety, supporting a business that runs on tight deadlines and a full calendar. No two weeks look the same, and your work keeps the wider team moving.

This person will sit in a close-knit Finance team, reporting to the Financial Controller. The focus will be expense review and approvals, alongside ownership of a portfolio of suppliers within Accounts Payable.
