Job summary

Barden is seeking an experienced Accountant on a fixed-term contract to join its finance team overseeing Ireland and the UK operations. Reporting to the CFO, you will own the month-end close, manage payroll and VAT, and contribute to budgeting and reporting.

This broad role requires strong Excel skills, familiarity with ERP systems, and the ability to handle confidential data under deadline pressure while supporting CSRD and sustainability reporting.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end close and produce the monthly management accounts.
• Prepare and file Irish and UK VAT, Intrastat, and PAYE returns.
• Run weekly payroll and monthly expenses.
• Keep bank, stock, and fixed asset reconciliations accurate and current.
• Support the ERP upgrade and the CSRD and sustainability project.
• Contribute to budgets, audits, and reporting for the CFO and leadership team.

Barden is delighted to be working with a long-established, Irish-owned manufacturing and distribution business as they look to hire an Accountant on a fixed term contract. Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a broad, hands-on role in a busy finance team serving operations across Ireland and the UK.

You will own a wide spread of the finance function, from payroll and VAT through to the monthly management accounts, while also getting involved in an ERP upgrade and the business's CSRD and sustainability reporting. If you enjoy variety and like seeing the whole picture rather than one corner of it, this role will suit you well.

This is a great opportunity for someone who has management accounting experience from industry or a mid tier accounting practice and is looking to gain broad exposure in their next move.
