Job summary

Collins McNicholas Group in Galway is seeking an Accounting Associate EMEA / Accounts Assistant to join our finance team on a permanent hybrid basis. The role focuses on accounts payable, general ledger activities, and supporting monthly close under US GAAP.

You will work with multiple departments, handle vendor relationships, and assist with audits, VAT filings, and ERP system improvements, including Excel and Microsoft Dynamics. Experience with Concur is a plus.

Qualifications

• Degree qualification or accounting technician or part qualified accountant.
• Experience or familiarity with GAAP and Sarbanes‑Oxley controls.
• Strong Excel (intermediate–advanced) and ERP systems knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Manage Accounts Payable, vendor setup, PO processing, invoice entry and payment.
• Run bi-monthly payment runs and reconcile vendor accounts.
• Process employee expenses in Concur and audit EU/US environments.
• Support monthly close under US GAAP and assist with audits.
• Assist VAT filings and regulatory reporting on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis.
• Support Sales Operations: new customers, quotes and AR tasks.
• Assist with ERP upgrade implementations focusing on AP.

Accounting Associate EMEA / Accounts Assistant -Galway - Permanent - Hybrid

Key Responsibilities:

• Accounts Payable duties include creation of new vendors, processing purchase orders, entering, payment and allocation of vendor invoices and reconciliation of vendor accounts
• Manage bi-monthly payment runs.
• Auditing, entering, payment and reconciliation of employee expenses on Concur.
• Prepare schedules to maintain and track various expenses and vendor activity.
• Assist in the financial close process under US GAAP on a monthly basis.
• Assist with the financial audits under both US GAAP and local statutory requirements.
• Assist with Vat and related filings on a monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly and annual basis
• Sales Operations functions include but not limited to creation of new customers, sales quotations and aspects of accounts receivable.
• Assist with implementation of upgraded ERP system with focus on AP functions.
• Provide ongoing support to the EMEA Commercial Team (Sales, Marketing, Operations, Clinical & Quality Functions) as required from time to time.
• Assists EMEA Senior Financial Accountant and EMEA Financial Controller with other projects and priorities as needed.

Requirements:

• Degree qualification / accounting technician / part qualified accountant
• Multinational experience would be an advantage
• Minimum of 4 years relevant experience.
• Knowledge of finance and accounting principles, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley regulations.
• Intermediate-to-advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics or similar ERP systems.
• A growth mindset in relation to process improvements and new systems.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and analysis skills
• Ability to collaborate with a multi-department team.
