Job summary

KPMG Ireland is seeking an Accounting Advisory Senior Associate or Manager in Dublin. You will join a dynamic team within Accounting Advisory, delivering accounting policy, GAAP conversions, and client-facing advisory services across a range of industries.

The role emphasizes managing client engagements, developing junior staff, and expanding services. You will apply IFRS and Irish/UK GAAP knowledge, lead projects, and build strong client relationships in a collaborative, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

  • Qualified accountants with 1+ year PQE (ACA/ACCA or international equivalent).
  • Strong IFRS and Irish/UK GAAP knowledge.
  • Experience in leading teams and delivering client services.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage client accounting engagements and lead teams.
  • Support management of accounting advisory practice and develop services.
  • Develop junior staff through coaching and mentoring.
  • Deliver engagement proposals to win engagements.

A Snapshot Of Your Peer Group
  • Qualified accountants (ACA, ACCA, or international equivalent) with 1+ year(s) PQE
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting, preferably obtained in a “Big 4/Top 10” environment
  • Proven project management skills, with experience in leading teams and delivering services to clients
  • Problem solving attitude and proven ability to apply accounting concepts to unusual one-off situations
  • Strong technical experience, with a track record of combining accounting analysis with commercial business advice
  • Experience in accounting standards including IFRS and Irish/UK GAAP
  • Strong interpersonal skills, drive and enthusiasm
  • Excellent communication skills; both written and oral

  • Management of client accounting-related engagements, and leading teams. In some instances, leading Accounting Advisory input into larger, multi-disciplinary teams
  • Take an active role in supporting the management of the accounting advisory practice, including developing new services for clients
  • Be involved in the development of more junior staff, including providing training and acting as a coach and mentor to team members
  • Deliver compelling engagement proposals which result in winning engagements
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and team members
  • Actively contribute to the Accounting Advisory strategy, team management and other non-delivery aspects of the role

Accounting Advisory is one of KPMG’s fastest growing departments. We provide specialist accounting advice to clients across a range of areas. Our client list includes some of Ireland’s largest publicly quoted and private companies along with large multi-national companies within our international network. Our projects focus on the application of technical accounting and is highly transaction driven. The accounting advice we provide ranges from one-off accounting queries, to accounting policy/GAAP conversions, implementation support for new accounting standards, group restructurings, and providing training. We often work cross-functionally with our teams in KPMG’s Transaction Services, Corporate Finance, Management Consultancy, Legal Services and Tax departments.
