Job summary

Purcell O’Leary Recruitment is seeking an experienced accountant to join their finance team on a part-time basis, three days per week. The role supports month-end reporting, budgeting, forecasting, statutory compliance, audit processes and financial analysis in a flexible environment.

You will prepare management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, assist with audits, payroll processing, and provide analysis to operational managers.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent).
• Strong technical accounting knowledge.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Preparation and review of management accounts.
• Budgeting and forecasting.
• Financial analysis and reporting.
• Month-end and year-end close processes.
• Liaising with external auditors.
• Experience using AI tools to support analysis and reporting.
• Experience in publishing, media, subscription-based businesses or membership organisations.
• Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Financial reporting: assist in monthly management accounts.
• Review and report subscription revenue and deferred revenue.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and schedules.
• Support budgeting and forecast updates.
• Assist with annual budgeting process.
• Participate in audits and statutory financial statements.
• Provide financial analysis to operational managers.
• Support continuous improvement of financial reporting and KPIs.
