Job summary

Kepak Group in Clonee, Meath, is seeking an ambitious Accountant to support financial performance, drive continuous improvement, and help the business achieve its strategic goals in a collaborative environment.

This 9 month fixed term contract covers monthly management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, VAT and statutory returns, and maintaining the general ledger with timely, accurate reporting.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant or part-qualified with relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in Excel and accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts.
• Analyse financial performance and provide commentary on variances and trends.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Prepare financial reports for senior management.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded.
• Reconcile bank accounts and balance sheet accounts.
• Process journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations.
• Prepare and submit VAT, payroll and other statutory returns.
• Support internal and external audit processes and maintain financial controls.

The Accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, and supporting the business in achieving its financial objectives. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide timely financial information to support decision-making.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts

Requirements

• Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent) or part-qualified with relevant experience
• Experience in a finance or accounting role
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience within a manufacturing, food production, or FMCG environment
• Knowledge of ERP systems
• Experience with budgeting and forecasting processes
