Job summary

PT Maximus Indo Asia is seeking an experienced Workshop & Yard Section Head to lead all workshop and yard operations for our heavy equipment division in Tangerang, Banten. The role focuses on maintenance, repair, safety, and efficiency across assets, with visibility to senior management.

You will supervise workshop staff, schedule preventive maintenance, and liaise with operators and external vendors to ensure reliable equipment uptime while controlling costs and adhering to safety standards.

About the role

PT Maximus Indo Asia is seeking an experienced and dynamic Workshop & Yard Section Head - Heavy Equipment to lead and manage all workshop and yard operations for our heavy equipment division. This is a contract position based in Tangerang Banten, where you will take full responsibility for the maintenance, repair, and safe storage of heavy equipment assets. This leadership role is pivotal to ensuring operational efficiency, safety compliance, and the longevity of our equipment fleet. You will report directly to senior management and have a significant impact on the productivity and profitability of our operations.

What you'll be doing

• Oversee all daily workshop and yard operations, including equipment maintenance, repairs, and servicing schedules
• Manage and supervise workshop staff, technicians, and yard personnel, ensuring they adhere to safety protocols and quality standards
• Develop and implement maintenance schedules and preventive maintenance programmes to minimise downtime and extend equipment lifespan
• Conduct regular inspections of heavy equipment to identify maintenance needs and potential safety hazards
• Maintain detailed records of all maintenance work, repairs, spare parts inventory, and equipment condition reports
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies across the workshop and yard facilities
• Manage budget allocation for maintenance, repairs, spare parts, and equipment upgrades
• Liaise with equipment operators and clients to understand operational requirements and address equipment-related concerns
• Coordinate with external suppliers and service providers for specialised repairs or component replacements
• Identify training needs for workshop staff and implement continuous skill development programmes
• Monitor and optimise workshop efficiency, reducing repair turnaround times and minimising operational costs

What we’re looking for

• Minimum 10+ years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance, repairs, or workshop management within the automotive trades or related industrial sectors
• Proven track record of successfully managing workshop operations, staff teams, and maintenance budgets in a supervisory or leadership capacity
• Comprehensive knowledge of heavy equipment types, including excavators, loaders, bulldozers, compactors, and other construction or industrial machinery
• Strong understanding of maintenance best practices, preventive maintenance programmes, and equipment lifecycle management
• Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop technical staff
• Proficiency in maintenance management systems and workshop software applications
• Sound knowledge of health and safety regulations, environmental compliance requirements, and quality management standards relevant to heavy equipment operations
• Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detail
• Effective communication skills in both written and verbal formats
• Diploma or certification in mechanical engineering, automotive technology, or heavy equipment maintenance is highly desirable
• Experience with cost control, spare parts inventory management, and equipment performance metrics
