Job summary

SP Manufacturing is seeking a seasoned Wire Harness Engineering Manager to lead our engineering operations in Batam Kota, Riau Islands. You will oversee design, development, and optimization of wire harness systems while driving cost efficiency and on-time delivery.

The role requires strong leadership, deep technical knowledge of harness design, and experience managing cross-functional teams in a manufacturing setting. This is a full-time, on-site leadership position in Indonesia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 8+ years of professional experience in wire harness engineering or related field.
• Proven management or senior technical leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of wire harness design, materials, assembly, and testing methodologies.
• Familiarity with ISO, IEC and automotive/medical/aerospace standards.
• Proficiency with CAD tools and engineering simulations.
• Excellent communication and project management skills.
• Lean manufacturing knowledge is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the wire harness engineering team to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Design and develop wire harness solutions meeting customer specs, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee the complete product development lifecycle from concept through to production and QA.
• Conduct technical assessments and feasibility studies for new projects and processes.
• Collaborate with procurement, production, and QA for integrated engineering solutions.
• Establish engineering standards and best practices across all wire harness projects.
• Identify cost reduction and efficiency opportunities within manufacturing operations.
• Manage timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure on-time delivery.
• Conduct failure analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Stay abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes relevant to wire harness manufacturing.
• Liaise with customers and suppliers to understand requirements and resolve issues.

About the role

PT. SP Manufacturing is seeking an experienced and visionary Wire Harness Engineering Manager to lead our engineering operations in Batam Kota, Riau Islands. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial strategic role in overseeing the design, development, and optimization of wire harness systems for our manufacturing operations. As Wire Harness Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team of skilled engineers and technicians, ensuring that all wire harness products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and performance whilst maintaining cost-effectiveness and adherence to project timelines.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the wire harness engineering team, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and performance management to ensure high-quality deliverables
• Design and develop innovative wire harness solutions that meet customer specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements
• Oversee the complete product development lifecycle, from conceptualization through to production and quality assurance
• Conduct technical assessments and feasibility studies for new wire harness projects and manufacturing processes
• Collaborate with cross-functional departments including procurement, production, and quality assurance to ensure seamless integration of engineering solutions
• Establish and maintain engineering documentation, design standards, and best practices across all wire harness projects
• Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reduction, and efficiency gains within the wire harness manufacturing operations
• Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure on-time delivery and optimal resource utilization
• Conduct failure analysis and implement corrective actions to address quality issues and prevent recurrence
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes relevant to wire harness manufacturing
• Liaise with customers and suppliers to understand requirements, resolve technical issues, and ensure customer satisfaction

Qualification

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited institution
• Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in wire harness engineering or similar electrical/electronic engineering disciplines
• Proven experience in a management or senior technical role, demonstrating the ability to lead and develop teams
• Strong expertise in wire harness design, materials selection, assembly processes, and testing methodologies
• In-depth knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations, such as ISO, IEC, automotive, medical device or aerospace specifications
• Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and engineering simulation tools
• Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking to address complex technical challenges
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, cost analysis, and lean manufacturing principles is highly desirable
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and project management software
