Job summary

PT KARYA TEKHNIK UTAMA (KTU) adalah perusahaan galangan kapal tumbuh pesat yang berbasis di Jakarta. Saat ini kami mencari Vessel Acquisition Specialist untuk mengidentifikasi, mengevaluasi, dan merekomendasikan akuisisi kapal guna ekspansi fleet perusahaan.

Posisi ini bekerja sama dengan tim operasional, keuangan, dan hukum untuk menuntaskan transaksi dari riset awal hingga finalisasi kontrak. Penempatan penuh waktu di kantor West Jakarta/Tambora, dengan tanggung jawab koordinasi dengan broker

Qualifications

• Minimal 3 tahun pengalaman akuisisi kapal dan/atau broker kapal.
• Gelar Sarjana di bidang Maritim, Teknik Laut, Bisnis, Keuangan, atau sejenis.
• Kemampuan analitis untuk menilai model keuangan, risiko, dan kesehatan aset.
• Manajemen proyek dengan kemampuan mengelola beberapa timeline transaksi.
• Kemampuan komunikasi yang luar biasa untuk laporan dan presentasi.

Responsibilities

• Riset pasar dan armada untuk mengidentifikasi target akuisisi kapal.
• Analisis kinerja kapal, spesifikasi teknis, biaya operasional, nilai komersial, dan kelayakan finansial untuk kasus bisnis.
• Melakukan due diligence dan memastikan risiko teknis, hukum, dan keuangan terkendali sesuai regulasi maritim.
• Menyusun proposal akuisisi berbasis data dan menyajikannya kepada manajemen senior.
• Bekerjasama dengan keuangan dan legal internal untuk negosiasi, dokumen, dan penyelesaian kontrak pembelian.
• Mengelola garis waktu akuisisi, milestone proyek, dan koordinasi komunikasi antara kantor pusat di Jakarta Barat dan broker eksternal.

Role Overview

Reporting To: Management / Head of Sales

We are seeking an analytical and strategic Vessel Acquisition Specialist to drive our fleet expansion. In this role, you will identify, evaluate, and recommend vessel acquisitions that align with our long-term strategic and operational goals. You will work closely with cross-functional teams in operations, finance, and legal to execute transactions from initial research through to contract finalization.

Key Responsibilities

Market & Fleet Research: Source and identify potential vessel acquisition targets through extensive market analysis, competitive tracking, and maritime trend research.

Financial & Technical Evaluation: Analyze vessel performance, technical specifications, operational costs, commercial value, and overall financial viability to build robust business cases.

Due Diligence & Compliance: Coordinate the due diligence process, ensuring all technical, legal, and financial risks are thoroughly assessed and compliant with maritime regulations.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Prepare data-driven acquisition proposals and present actionable recommendations to senior management.

Transaction Support: Partner with internal finance and legal teams to support negotiations, draft documentation, and finalize purchasing contracts.

Project Management: Manage acquisition timelines, coordinate project milestones, and streamline communication between West Jakarta corporate office and external brokers.

Required Qualifications

Experience: Minimum 3 years of proven experience in vessel acquisition, ship brokerage, or maritime asset management.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Marine Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related field.

Analytical Skills: Strong ability to interpret financial models, evaluate asset health, and conduct risk assessments.

Project Management: Proven capability to handle multiple transaction timelines and balance diverse stakeholder expectations.

Communication: Exceptional reporting and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex maritime data into clear business proposals.

Location: Ability to work full-time on-site in Tambora, West Jakarta.

KTU has been in the marine industry for more than 30 years. It was originally established in 1983 as a humble marine workshop at Jalan Kakap in Jakarta.

A shipyard in Marunda was soon acquired with its initial focus on wooden fishing vessels.

KTU evolved and built another shipyard at Sagulung in 1990 and Sekupang in 1992. The rapid growth is primarily due to the strong demand and trust in KTU products and service. Both shipyards are supported by various operational facilities, skilled workforce and extensive constructional sites up to international standards.
