Job summary

Golden Agri-Resources (GAR) seeks a Palm Oil Trading Analyst to collect data, organize information, and evaluate market signals. The role focuses on building a reliable 18-month outlook and sharing findings with trading teams.

Responsibilities include data collection in Indonesia, developing supply and demand models, leading weekly fundamental analysis meetings, and communicating insights with clear charts. Candidate must have a Bachelor's degree and at least three years in palm oil trading.

Qualifications

• Min Bachelor Degree in any field.
• Having min 3 years of working experience in Trading Palm Oil Analyst.
• Good in analytical thinking and communication skill.
• Fluent in English, can speak Mandarin could be an advantages.
• Willing to be located in Head Office Jakarta.

Responsibilities

• Collect data & information for palm oil trading, including crop surveys and market data.
• Analyze data to shape supply and origination assumptions and forecast accuracy.
• Act as gatekeeper of supply and demand data, providing guidance to trading and other functions.
• Lead weekly fundamental analysis meetings and clearly communicate findings with charts and graphs.
• Collaborate with asset and trading teams to maintain data models and ensure edge over the industry.

Job Description :

1. Collection of data & information
1.1 Carry out crop surveys in Indonesia
1.2 Assist in developing and maintaining a world- wide supply and demand model on palm oil with a 18 month outlook with a stress on fact – based information.
1.3 Collaborate with our asset and trading businesses to harness data and information
1.4 Keeping organized records of data, documents, models, analysis and reports in order to facilitate review and other analysis and forecast
1.5 Develop and maintain contacts with key industry players
1.6 Continue to make improvements on our data and information gather channels and models in order to create an edge over the industry

2. Analysis
2.1 Interpret and assemble data affecting our supply and origination assumptions
2.2 Evaluate and compare our forecast vs the rest of the market

3. Resource Centre
3.1 Provide guidance and advise to others ( trading and other business functions) in the areas of information gathering and assist in developing supply and demand models of individual countries
3.2 Provide data upon request to allow for specific analysis to others
3.3 Keeping abreast of developments in the industry, such as, bio- energy and vegetable oils substitutions.
3.4 Act as the gatekeeper of our supply and demand data and information in order to streamline collection, dissemination and protection of our proprietary data and information.

4. Communication
4.1 Lead our weekly fundamental analysis meeting, highlighting key changes to both supply and demand, providing explanations and revisiting our forecast on these factors.
4.2 Communicate clearly our findings and analysis, using charts and graphs as supports.
4.3 On a daily basis, communicate changes to the SnD grids.
